New Project
The Trust is currently seeking funds from the general public as well as from funding agencies to manage and administer a project focusing on ‘Aid to Recuperation and Rehabilitation in Hospitals, Hospices, Prisons and other such Centres’.
Children and adults of all ages find enormous comfort and strength from being able to express their inner thoughts and feelings through mark making, drawings, paintings and three dimensional forms, using a wide variety of materials. The help provided by such activities, in collaboration with other agencies, cannot be over stated and yet only limited provision exists in a few institutions.
The Project will focus on two main aspects one dealing with the rehabilitation of offenders about to leave prisons and their journey from custody to employment or post sentence education and the other with those individuals who need to come to terms with their situation in hospitals, hospices and other centres. The Trust has appointed a Project Director to lead the first of these foci and planning is well advanced in seeking to raise the necessary funds from funding agencies. The Trust now urgently needs additional funds to ensure that this part of the project is implemented in the autumn of 2006.
Similar work related to the second part of the project is expected to begin soon.
The Trust seeks to raise a large sum to operate this project and demonstrate the benefit it provides and the need for regular support.
