Carole Baker

Carole Baker is a consultant to the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) supporting the improvement of initial teacher training, a consultant for Eduquis related to 14-19 Educational provision, a consultant to Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) and works for the DfES as the lead assessor for humanities specialist schools.This work followed 20 years service in Her Majesty's Inspectorate during which time she planned, managed and contributed to the inspection of primary and secondary schools, further education colleges, higher education institutions and education partnerships of all kinds. During her time as an HMI she also inspected schools in France and contributed to an OECD project on effective teaching.

Carole trained to teach Religious Education and History and in her early career worked in schools, adult education and higher education. She has a PhD focused on spirituality in early medieval Europe.
