Introduction

The appointment of a trustee is achieved most frequently through an invitation in order to maintain a breadth of expertise and experience on the Board of Trustees. This ensures good management and efficient operation of The Trust.

Each trustee is appointed within ‘The Memorandum and Articles of Association of The Athene Trust’ for a specific period. ‘At every annual general meeting one third of the trustees who are subject to retirement by rotation, or if their number is not three or a multiple of three, the number nearest to one third, shall retire from office.’
